External use of equipment, facilities and resources is becoming an increasing priority within educational institutions.

Over recent years, we’ve seen a growing demand for a joined-up approach that supports both internal and external facility use. Many institutions possess highly sought-after spaces equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and technology—assets that are of significant interest to industry partners and external practitioners.

Smarthub is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between educational facility use and more ad-hoc, practice-based access requirements. It already supports safe, compliant student-led use through powerful web-based booking and management tools. However, as collaboration between institutions grows, along with increased knowledge-transfer activity and private/public partnerships, it has become clear that there is now a specific need to extend these capabilities to external clients and customers.
